“Commons” has its meaning in English of “space for people”; it also means “shared property.” To meet our desire to create a local space in which English in its most vital form could be studied, Commons English School was founded. Our two main projects are Kids English Class and the English Workshop for Adults. Students/participants will proactively learn practical English from our native instructors.

We emphasize on communication that allows to connect to others. Communication includes both “expression” and “reception,” and it is the former that we put more emphasis on. The latter, which includes listening and reading, can be practiced at home; the former, on the other hand, requires lively interactions with English speakers.

In expression, or speech, what is most important is the content, or what is to be expressed. If the objective of learning English is to make communications with people around the world, it is—more than competence in grammar and vocabulary—the story and individual uniqueness that enable them to connect to people. One of the attractive points about Commons English School is that the instructors are full of stories and are professionals in drawing out the most vibrant stories from students/participants; thus instructors enable them to experience profundity of lively communications.

This profundity could also be experienced through communications in Japanese. However, the truth is that Japanese has much less users in the world. English, on the other hand, has many more, and learning it will most certainly broaden their perspectives. Why not come and join us to learn this amazing language and experience the real communication?
